Treats are important for a dog—not only as snacks, but for development and training, too. We know a thing or two about that. For years, we’ve trained our rescues to be volunteer therapy dogs, cheering up patients in hospitals.

That’s why a portion of all profits are donated to organizations that help rescue dogs become therapy dogs.

Peanut Butter & Banana Flavor

Peanut Butter

We use single ingredient unsalted peanut butter in our dog treats. Peanut butter is an excellent source of protein and healthy fats, vitamins B and E, and niacin. Protein benefits your dog by providing amino acids that support their immune system, repair and maintain cells, and assist with making hormones, enzymes, and antibodies. It’s also a good source of fiber, is essential for regulating your dog’s digestive tract and could help maintain overall brain functioning in dogs and improve their cognitive abilities.

Bananas

Bananas contain all sorts of goodness. Potassium helps with the proper functioning of muscles and blood vessels and maintains good heart health. Magnesium helps dogs absorb vitamins and minerals and supports bone growth. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that boosts the immune system to fight against arthritis, glaucoma, infections, kennel cough, and cataracts. Vitamin B6 plays a role in proper brain function and B7 keeps your dog’s skin and fur in good condition. And fiber is important to keep your dog “regular.”

Whole Wheat Flour

We use 100% whole grain wheat flour in our peanut butter and banana treats. Grains provide protein and fatty acids, which are important for heart health and cognitive and immune function, and promoting healthy skin and fur. Whole grain wheat flour is rich in protein and high in fiber and carbohydrates and a good source of a range of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and plant based nutrients—including essential nutrients such as vitamin E, Iron, manganese, and copper.

Eggs

We use pasture-raised eggs that are certified humane and hormone-free. Eggs are packed with protein and rich in many essential amino and fatty acids, vitamins and minerals which help support your dog, inside and out. Linoleic acid, vitamin B2 and B12 and water-soluble vitamin A are great for your dog’s skin and coat and phosphorous supports strong bones and teeth.

Love

What makes our treats so special? They’re baked with love and dogs can taste it. We've been baking treats for our dogs for a long time and we know what makes them happy. We also want to keep them healthy, so we use only the best human-grade ingredients and add NO preservatives.

Scout visiting a young patient at UCLA

There’s just something about a dog. A person can be lying in a hospital bed, attached to machines, uncertain of when or if they’ll be able to go home. Then a dog comes in and with one wag of a furry tail, that patient is all smiles. For that moment, they’re transported to place of happiness and comfort.

We’ve seen it happen countless times with our former therapy dogs—Scout and Jasper (both rescues from Downey Animal Care Center)—who both volunteered with UCLA People-Animal Connection (PAC) in Los Angeles for more than 12 years. PAC dog-human teams bring something familiar and calming to the environment. The dogs don’t care who patients are or why they’re there. They just love them. And unconditional love definitely adds to healing.

PAC currently has 70 dog-human teams, but they would like to add more teams so that they can get more visits to the many people who would like them. Programs like PAC rely on donations to survive, which is just one of the many reasons we support them.

If your dog is a real “people person,” consider volunteering for PAC. And if your local hospital doesn’t have a program like that, start one! You’ll be amazed at the healing power you and your pup will bring into the world.

Beth & Oliver

When Oliver (nickname: “Oliver P. Toliver”) was a puppy, he was really sick and Beth nursed him back to health. She wanted to make sure Oliver had the very best treats, so she started baking her own with quality ingredients! And they taste SOOOO good that it seems that dogs will literally do ANYTHING for them!

Treats are important—not only as snack, but for development and training, too. Beth knows a thing or two about that. For years, she’s trained her rescues to be volunteer therapy dogs to cheer up patients in hospitals. That’s why she’s donating a portion of the profits to organizations that help rescue dogs like me become therapy dogs.

Creating Oliver P. Toliver’s Thoroughly Tasty Treats is a way for Beth to combine all of her passions—dogs, baking and, most importantly, giving back.

Why do dogs go crazy for Oliver P. Toliver's Thoroughly Tasty Treats?

We bake our treats in small batches and without any preservatives. We know the flavors that dogs love and include simple, clean, healthy ingredients. And honestly...it's because they're made with love!

What kind of ingredients do you use?

We use all-natural, clean ingredients including pasture-raised eggs, all-natural peanut butter, sustainably caught wild Alaskan salmon, and we use no preservatives. We wouldn't put anything in our treats that we (humans) wouldn't eat ourselves. In fact, there are a lot of humans who love our treats, too — much to their dog's dismay!

Without preservatives, how do I keep Oliver P. Toliver's Thoroughly Tasty Treats fresh?

Our treats can stay fresh for a long time when stored in a cool dry place. If your dog doesn't gobble them up right away, we recommend storing them in the fridge or freezer in an airtight container.

What if my dog is allergic to grain or gluten?

Not to worry! Two of our flavors (Salmon & Sweet Potato and Carrot & Apple) are grain and gluten free and feature oat flour which is great for dogs with grain sensitivities.
